Are there any Brooklynites who send their kids to NEST on the LES? Where do you travel from in Brooklyn? How do you commute? How long does it take? The walk from the F train to the school was rather long. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Thanks for the prompt replies. My dc is entering the 3rd grade and tho we haven't heard whether we've been offered a place, the commute is a BIG draw back. At one of the open houses the PTA prez took names and spoke about organized private buses, but we never heard anything more. [ Reply | More ]

If we get in, we will be driving in. Where are the "organized Brooklyn Mom's" with NEST kids? [ Reply | More ]

nope. I'm in D15, but only put NEST down on the app. DC was already admitted to a private, so it's either going to be that or NEST. Not sure yet which if he gets into NEST. [ Reply | More ]

I take my son in everyday via the F train. The depending on timing we either walk or take the M21. I love the time together but I hope enough Brooklyn NEST parents get together next year to do the bus thing. It would make life so much easier. [ Reply | More ]

Well, UB seems to be a fine base to begin organizing. Of course, some of us first need to know whether we're in. Anybody have a clue when we are supposed to hear? Who is sending out the letters anyway, DOE or the schools? [ Reply | More ]

DOE. Once you are in there are some lists for NEST parents/families. The PTA has a woman who coordinates these efforts. Several areas worked out private busses -- just not us. [ Reply | More ]
