I don't see those as serious issues, but just tell DH to ask about it. Or call the ped yourself and ask [ Reply | More ]

see if you can schedule a phone appointment. (but i don't think you should be too worried at 9.5 months. my ds didn't do that stuff until 10 months and change. he just did a bunch of the developmental stuff all at once.) [ Reply | More ]

Ped PT here- the ped won't be too concerned at this point in time if there is nothing else going on. also- child will not qualify for EI(requires a 25% delay). I'd call ped, wait and watch. Also- put db on floor, scatter toys around and let play. Avoid exersaucer, carseat, swing, etc. [ Reply | More ]

what do you mean a 25% delay? she gets a ton of tummy time- shes really fast at moving. i actually wasnt plannign on calling ped, we have an appt in 3 weeks - ped does a 9 month, 10.5 month, then 12 months check up. so was planning on dicussing next vist [ Reply | More ]

to qualify for early intervention services a child must present with greater than 25% delay (about 3 months) [ Reply | More ]

They aren't just looking at few isolated skills. Rather they look at a variety of present and emerging skills. There is a wide range of what is typical for motor development. If the child is doing well in other areas and thriving there is less of a cause for concern. If the child is having feeding issues, medical issues, growth issues the ped is usually more concerned. I wouldn't worry too much- sounds like you are on top of things, but a phone call to the ped never hurts if it would alieve your concerns. I am a Mom too and you have to trust your gut. Peds are used to silly phonecalls. [ Reply | More ]
