After lots of panicking and and going back and forth I decided that I could not deal with getting braces for 2 years at age 30. It's funny, the type of person who wouldn't feel self conscious about having clear braces is the type who wouldn't bother getting braces in the first place. Two years of feeling like a loser just wasn't worth it for me for me for teeth that aren't that noticeable. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

i'd do it -- but i already went through the pain 20 yrs ago... wish i would have worn my retainer, though -- my teeth would have stayed much straighter... [ Reply | More ]

Plenty of adults get braces and don't feel like losers. Maybe you have some deeper issues to explore [ Reply | More ]

I'm a bit vain, but no issues, perfectly happy. Just heard from friends about clear braces always turning yellow, getting food stuck in them, and just generally making people look dorky [ Reply | More ]

That was me, I still think it was worth it. Especially if you have an overbite, bite problems are more important to fix than cosmetic stuff. When I see adults with braces I don't think dork, I think brave. I find adults with wonky teeth more unsettling than adults with braces. [ Reply | More ]

I just decided that nothing would be worth feeling shitty for 2 years. I don't have bite problems, and my teeth just aren't that noticeable to people. [ Reply | More ]

I did it at 30 (for 1.5 years). It was emotionally hard, I'm not going to lie, to never feel pretty for that entire time, but so worth it to get my teeth right. They are only going to get worse, so you might as well addess it now. [ Reply | More ]

I may get a second opinion on lingual (back of teeth) braces, but otherwise, will just live with it. I have an overbite, not very noticeable, but not great. def would like to fix if it was easier [ Reply | More ]

I did it with metal braces at 32! And, I had my 1st db with them on. Now 42 and am so happy i did it. my teeth look great and it's true, they only get more crooked as you get older. And crooked/bad teeth are very ageing not to mention harder to maintain the health of them. [ Reply | More ]
