I go out with friends once or twice a month. I stopped reading parent books, started reading books, new york times, new yorker, started yoga, knitting, art, and trying to have date night once a month. start doing things for yourself once the kids are in bed and try and carve out time on the weekend just for you [ Reply | More ]

I do resent my dh, I try to think of ways I can get away. when he is home, he's in charge and I leave. I'm not one of the wives that get's up early and takes care of the kids in the morning so dh can sleep in b/c he got in late from a business trip. no way. [ Reply | More ]

how many dcs and how old? do you have other sahm friends? i was happiest as a sahm when i had a group of friends w/the same age kids. we got together frequently with and without kids. we'd do dinner and bedtime playdates together when dhs worked late. it was more fun to feed and bathe kids in a group. now we all have so many kids and varied schedules so it's not as much fun. see - you're in a hard spot. i'm pg w/#4 and my oldest and youngest will be 9 yrs apart. i''m dreading dealing with a newborn schedule at the same time that i'm dealing with two school aged kids' schedules. it must be hard with a teen and a toddler. [ Reply | More ]
