My cleaning lady comes once a week, I never gave explicit cleaning instructions - just wich prods I like for her to use. I now see that she doesn't move things completely to dust under them, and she isn't dusting the frames on pictures or paintings (m) other than that she is very good and takes pride in her work. I don't want to offend her, but I do want her to dust more thoroughly. Is there a tactful way to approach this? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Well, if you won't level with her, just say dc is/are sensitive or allergic to dust and that dusting must be thorough. Give her a list of what you expect dusted. [ Reply | More ]

Just say to her "I noticed lots of dust here and here (and show her as you're talking). Can you concentrate on these areas today?" [ Reply | More ]

OP: I like that, instead of a list I'll say dd has allergies and show her around the house specifically [ Reply | More ]

Mine too, but whe I tell her this, she says that it's been 2 weeks (she comes every other week) and so there will be dust! Also, she gives me a strange look when I ask her to do soemthing out of her "routine" liek cleaning the fridge or the (m) outside of the windows! [ Reply | More ]

i think if you just show her/ask her nicely it shouldn't be a prob. just show her one of the dusty areas and say casually "oh, please be sure to...thanks so much!" [ Reply | More ]
