Nanny pay advice: She has been with me for over 2 years. I always pay her overtime even if I am 10 minutes late. This year, because of vacations, etc, she has had a ton of time off, for which she has been paid. (I have been off at that time as well.) Because of a family illness (my family), she will have at least four more days off this week and next. Do you think I could ask her to give me a free night in exchange for this additional time off? Or would I totally burn the bridge? I know she will say ok, but I really don't want to upset her. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I would ask. You're being very generous to her - above & beyond. [ Reply | More ]

I think I will. She's probably had 25 days off this year, so I don't think it is too unreasonable. [ Reply | More ]

IMO, if she doesn't have family obligations, you can ask her. (Does she already know she'll have the days off? If not, you can ask her if she is willing to switch, as opposed to asking her to do it as a favor.) [ Reply | More ]

She doesn't have any family obligations. She knows she will have the days off. I will ask her tonight what she thinks. [ Reply | More ]
