Most churches or synagogues have a food bank/food donation. Call one near you. I bring dc to help pack up lunches and sometimes they give them out as well. [ Reply | More

This. We have a non-profit in our neighborhood that prepares food for the elderly, disabled and others but they work out of a Greek Orthodox church. Sometimes the religious institution is doing the work and other times they just provide the space. Last year DD and I helped prep food for Thanksgiving dinner. [ Reply | More

Some ideas... plant flowers in pots and bring them to a nursing home/senior center... or... assemble homeless care kits, keep one in your purse and hand them out on the train as needed... [ Reply | More
