Friends coming to town this weekend. They want to go to a museum (and I haven't been in years). Love the Frick and MOMA, but no idea what's out there now. Where should I take them? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Frick, Morgan, Cloisters are all my favorites. And I take my mom once a week. Whitney is great, and good for out of towners, but expensive. Cloisters is pay what you wish if you (as NYEr) buy the tickets. [ Reply | More ]

If you have a library card you can get free passes on culture pass dot NYC (I think). We went to the Whitney free including the Warhol show. If the website says no passes are available check on the first of the following month; that's when they add more passes. [ Reply | More ]

Have you been to the Museum of Art and Design on Columbus Circle? Small, but nice collection. It's all sort of geared toward answering the question of where is the border between art and craft. And crazy expensive gift shop that's fun to see ($92 candles!) [ Reply | More ]
