my 2.5 is in daycare 4 days a week. He started a new daycare in July and still has a complete meltdown at every drop off. They send pictures during the day and hes not crying but doesn't look that happy. You think its time to start looking for a new daycare? Hes a tough kid in general so I don't know if hes still getting used to it? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I wouldn't switch him because then it'll just be the same all over again. I had to switch my similar aged DS to a new daycare when we moved to a new neighborhood. Which was sad because we looooved the old place and DS did too. But the new place is right around the corner from our apt. And same, he cried at drop off for the first few weeks but would be fine at pick up. Eventually he got over it. [ Reply | More ]

+ 1. A little girl in my dds class cried every day for almost 3 months. Then she decided she loved it. Toddlers are weird. [ Reply | More ]

It's a rough age for some. I'd give it a little time. Is it overly loud? Does he have a special teacher/aide that he's bonded with at all? Not all daycares are alike so maybe? (signed preK teacher) [ Reply | More ]
