How much of a play area does your kid's kindergarten room have? Are there still imaginary play things like toy kitchens, dolls etc or was that all left behind in pre K? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Kindergarten teacher here. Yes, lots of play in my classroom. No dress up because we have a terrible lice issue that my school won't address. [ Reply | More ]

My daughter's k has blocks and crayons and legos--but not so much else as far as imaginary play. I wonder if they are going to roll different things out? I don't want to ask the teacher because I don't want to come across as critical at school start but I'm worried! [ Reply | More ]

np--Imaginary play implies no props. Don't worry about it. Kids don't need toy kitchens. [ Reply | More ]

I agree. But I wonder if the day is too structured to allow for any imagination. She is very into dress up at home, maybe that;'s enough balance [ Reply | More ]
