11 year old dd is having a full-on tantrum because we told her she can't have a playdate with a friend. How worried should I be? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Not worried at all. Don't give her tantrums "currency" by making them something more than they are. Just tell her that you know she can get through her strong feelings of disappointment and when she's ready to come out of her room, she can have a glass of juice. My kids had low blood sugar type tantrums when they weren't eating enough. [ Reply | More ]

What's not normal is that you're still calling it a playdate at 11 years old. [ Reply | More ]
