Leave her where she is now. She should be fine for top 50. [ Reply | More ]

I'd get some tutoring (if that is your/their goal--top 50). Otherwise I'd say be happy. [ Reply | More ]

How much has she been reaching out to her teachers for help? At my DD’s TT the teachers are very willing to meet with struggling students, and even will set up weekly meetings to help your kid. You don’t need to pay for tutoring for her to get more help in her classes. [ Reply | More ]

I'd work with the school first to figure out what she needs to get her grades up and also see what they're thinking relative to her college placement. [ Reply | More ]

Who cares about a hypothetical about someone else's kid who doesn't exist? Articulate your own problem and ask that actual question you want an answer to. [ Reply | More ]

Poor mom: can you give me (roughly) the kind of income that gets generous aid. Thanks in advance! [ Reply | More ]

Tell us your HHI. You probably won't get really generous aid if you're "NYC poor" [ Reply | More ]

Do not assume you will be able to get aid in college. NYC independent schools give aid to families with higher income than colleges will. Run your numbers on college net price calculators to get a sense of college aid. [ Reply | More ]
