Was just invited to coworkers Rosh Hashanah celebration (is that the right word?) Sunday Sept 29. What do I bring? I asked her and she said don't bring anything. Kosher wine? Flowers? Homemade cookies? tia [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Jew here. I’ve never seen anyone bring flowers in my 40 years of celebrating. Dessert is appropriate but keep it kosher. [ Reply | More ]

Me too, another Jew. Flowers are safe and a nice gesture. And you don't have to worry about whether or not they're kosher. [ Reply | More ]

Only buy something that says the word kosher on the package. Go into a local kosher store and buy something. IF you tell us where you live, we'll tell you where to shop. [ Reply | More ]

Most people are not kosher. Ask her if she keeps kosher at home. If so, dessert from a kosher bakery or a kosher bottle of wine (Israeli brand, not manishevitz). if not kosher, any bottle of wine or dessert [ Reply | More ]

Can't you bring her a real hostess gift rather than something you expect to be served. Some hostesses plan a full, coherent menu, and something random and unexpected doesn't fit. Pet peeve of mine actually. [ Reply | More ]
