Does your teen daughter shave or wax her legs? My DD (13) asked me yesterday to shave her legs but I am thinking if its better to take her to a wax salon?! Please share your experiences. Thank you, ladies! [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

If you can afford it, waxing is way better. Less wasteful and last around 4 weeks. I can't pay for DD's waxing, so I just bought her an epilator. Braun and Phillips make very good ones. [ Reply | More ]

Does it hurt? How long do your legs feel smooth? Does the hair have to be a certain length to work best? [ Reply | More ]

oooooh, so you've never waxed?!! it hurts like hell! The wax grabs all the hair and rips it out at the roots. Have you ever plucked a hair? its like plucking 40 hairs at once. Its awful. lasts about 3 weeks? it needs to be a certain length, maybe 1/4". IF YOUVE NEVER WAXED DO NOT BRING A 13 YR OLD TO DO IT. omg [ Reply | More ]

PP, not op. I’ve waxed but never used an epilator. Is it the same pain feeling? I stopped waxing because I hate that stubble feeling in the grow out phase. It never got soft, just stiff, short, pokey stubble. [ Reply | More ]

Epilator is great. I've had one made by Philips for over ten years. It came with this ice thing that could be attached which cools the area just epilated. Over time, I got used to epilating my legs and it gets done very quickly. Less than 5 mins for both legs. Way better than waxing. [ Reply | More ]

a 13 year old shouldnt be given the message that her body hair is so repulsive that she needs a painful method to remove it. Shaving is fine. Already at 13 your child had to endure this crap? Better get her some spank so she doesnt have panty lines. Let a 13 yr old be [ Reply | More ]

I couldn’t wait to shave. My leg hair was black and thick. I think I was in the 6th grade. [ Reply | More ]

My 11-year-old just told me she wants to start. I'm encouraging her to wait, since it's such a nuisance once one starts. Lots of hair but it's very blonde. [ Reply | More ]
