Has anyone left a very high paying job with long hours for something more flexible but pays less? Are you happy you made the switch? And what do you do now? I can't seem to find those unicorn work from home or part time jobs that pay anything decent that covers childcare costs. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Do you find that you actually work 20% less? My fear is doing the same amount of work for less pay. [ Reply | More ]

I did but the supposedly stress free job turned out to be as stressful and as many hours as before. [ Reply | More ]

We did, but it was slowly, over 10 years. When we adopted DDs, DH became the SAHP until both were in elementary. Then he started his own business with his free time during the day. When that got traction, I quit my job and we started two more businesses together. Now we run the three businesses and we each work about 20 hours a week. We don't net what we would in full time jobs, but we would not go back for anything. [ Reply | More ]
