So we just moved into a new place that has dark hardwood floors (they are old and thin, so maybe those engineered wood floors). Well my dh dragged a 50lb television across the dining room floor to the hallway leaving a scratch that looks like a trail. Besides being livid! Any suggestions about what can help get it out or minimize it short of refinishing or putting in new floors. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Yes btdt. I had newly refinished dark wood floors and immediately scratched them. My floor guy told me to buy a small can of minwax wood stain in the matching color. Apply it with a rag to the scratch and let it sit for a bit, maybe 30 minutes, but wipe off any stain from the non scratched area immediately. After letting it sit, wipe it off with a clean rag.
