Does anyone else who left NYC and is unhappy feel like the slump will allow you to move back. I am having moving back to manhattan fantasies and think the housing market and all the people being forced out might allow us to come back affordably. Anyone else? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I don't think you understand what is going on here....wealthy people are leaving because they are being priced out. It's not good here. Housing, education and other things have become less affordable because they are not declining with the economy, at least not proportionately. (How do I spell that???) In other words, there are no bargains to be found here....there are barely any empty apartments! [ Reply | More

There doesn't appear to be much a slump in NYC. If anything I wish I could go back because the cost of living in 'burbs (gas, heating) is getting outrageous. [ Reply | More

i don' tknow anyone who has been forced out because of pricing. maybe because of schools, but then rich europeans or arabs come in and swoop up their apts [ Reply | More
