Are any of the ERB subtest scores more important than others? If overall score very high, do the subtest scores really matter? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

For verbal: vocabulary and similarities are most important. For performance: block design and matrix are most important. If overall scores is high, coding doesn't really matter, especially if there are clearly no fine motor issues. I've also heard that a low score in picture concepts is often discounted because it is one of the first subtests given, and often dc don't do as well on it because they are sort of warming up to what is expected of them. I second all of this and it is consistent with what our PSD said. (Btw, I had never heard that about picture concepts - makes total sense to me. DC didn't do terribly well on that subtest and is really good at that sort of thing, so I wondered - that is a logical explanation.) [ Reply | More ]

If verbal is 99 but performance is 85 and total is 95, they will care. They don't like to see scatter so much. But scatter from subtest to subtest, probably okay. [ Reply | More ]
