Feel the need to reiterate. Many women who SAHM do it because we cannot afford to cover the costs of daycare with our salaries. The median income for women is about 30-40k./yr. If you are not a professional it can be financially impossible to work with young children. I had no idea what the implications of my career would mean at 22 - I worked in politics - now I cannot earn enough to cover expenses. I am considering how to go back to school but even that decision would mean a financial sacrifice to my family. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]
