HELP! I don't know what happened but one of my nipples has a small gouge in it. I noticed it when I tried to nurse my almost 7mo daughter. IT HURT. Now what? I don't want my milk to dry up, but nursing or pumping on that side is too painful. For tonight, I hand expressed (less pulling, pulling, pulling on the sore spot) and then bandaged the gouge with a little neosporin. Anyone BTDT? Or have any suggestions? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Get some Lansinoh, it will make it feel better and you can still nurse as it is safe for baby [ Reply | More ]

Call a lactation consultant or read Kathleen Huggin's excellent book "nursing mothers' companion". Do you have a la leche group nearby? Getting advice from anonymous message boards is not ideal. [ Reply | More ]
