I have a MAJOR problem with my dh. He is so snappy with my 6 yo dd, and sometimes outright frightning. He gets so angry at her - it scares me. Today she was listening to our conversation in the car and I was telling her that she misunderstood something I was saying, then she asked again, and he turned and gave her a look like he was about to beat her...I mean he never would but his face just looked evil. He says she keeps pushing limits, doesn't listen etc...but WTF??? He is the grown up. What the hell do I do - - I just can't even look at him. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

you need to talk to him about proper ways to discipline her. You both need to be on the same page with this. Have you tried talking about it when he is not upset about something? [ Reply | More

op-omg - so many times...i have bought him books even. i was out yesterday with a friend and she was telling me how sweet and gentle her dh was with he dd..and that she even prefers the dh - my dd would never do that...she loves him of course - kids love even the crappiest parents...but he is just so cold to her so much of time - and it just feels so forced for him to be gentle and sweet to her. nothing like iwth our ds who is younger.
