When you buy a sofa you consider "decent quality", not over the top, how long do you expect it to last? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

- With little kids, it will be ruined in a few years I think. But it could be recovered. I am thinking of Mitchell Gold quality. I bought mine from Craigslist with one stain & plan to recover it and keep it for a long time. [ Reply | More ]

just so you know - recovering costs more than buying most new. You'll need to buy a new one in ten years unless you torch the fabric sooner [ Reply | More ]

Good question. We bought a Crate & Barrel sofa when ds was born 5 yrs ago, and it is a filthy mess now--covered with pen, crayon, food stains. Not sure whether it's cheaper to reuphoster or buy a new one. This was our first "real" sofa. before that, we had a futon couch. [ Reply | More ]
