I was about to smack my old college roommate last night at dinner. She kept going on and on about how she had to have an elective c-section because she has anxiety. I've had 2 kids via c-section and I have a severe anxiety disorder - the firt was an emergency. In general I don't agree with elective c-sections but I understand that everyone has a right to choose their own birth experience. What pissed me off is that this friend is miss natural/environment/whole foods/diet cleanse etc etc. She refuses to take her doctors advice and take hormones so she can get pregnant because it isn't "natural." It is the hypocrisy of it all. She also kept going on about how it is easier to have a c/s blah blah blah. She continued to t spout off numerous opinions about parenting and questioning why we chose to have our kids 2 years apart (why so close? you should have more time between children?) I found it all infuriating and now I fear that when she does have a child she will be that miserable know it all hypocrite mom. I might have to create some distance. She has no idea what she is talking about. If you value her friendship let it wash over you. Sounds like you might have moved on though. [ Reply | More ]
