my dd's best friend at daycare keeps telling me how she invited my dd to her birthday party. except, she wasn't invited. so, i'm thinking of three possible explanations: my dd wasn't invited (she's 3 and the birthday girl is 5 so i can imagine parents were thinking she'd be too young for the rest of the kids), we were invited but invitation didn't make it somehow. either way, not sure what to do. i don't want them to think we're rude for not replying/attending if they did in fact invite us. but just tried to write an email asking, and there's just no good way to write it without sounding desperate or rude. help please. It sounds like if there was actually a party then you weren't invited. If you were and didn't get the invite I'm sure the mom will let you know you didn't RSVP. However... A lot of kids, especially girls, this age talk about bday parties which could be months and months away. My dd has been talking about her next birthday party since her last one. [ Reply | More ]

ITA. My DD and her friends talk about this all the time. I'd just let it go. [ Reply | More ]
