Someone told me that there is no parent interview at St. Ann's but there is one at Packer. Is that right? Is there no chance at St. Ann's to talk about your child? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

its better that way. trust me, most of the parent interviews are bs anyway. they get a sense of you from the application, essay, preschool report. then they see your kid. it really is enough. the parent interview is totally unnecessary IMO. [ Reply | More ]

Thanks. Am starting the process now for the fall. It seems so scary. St. Ann's is the best for us location-wise but it also seems kind of "freaky." Still, everyone I speak to loves the school so who knows. Packer is more traditional I guess so more like the kind of school I have experience with. [ Reply | More ]

there is no 'official' parent interview but they talk to you about how your child's interview went. which is essentially, your interview. but they say that the parents have nothing to do w/the process. this is bs. they're screening for pita parents. [ Reply | More ]

That's interesting. Who meets with the parents to tell them then? the tester? [ Reply | More ]

There is no parent interview at SA but the tester will talk with you after dc's interview/test. There also isn't an essay. They really base a lot on that interview with the child. Fwiw, I didn't even bring dh and didn't talk much either & dc got in. No connections and we're very ordinary parents with ordinary jobs. [ Reply | More ]

Both have a similar interview process: DC is tested while parents wait outside, then parents chat with tester while DC waits outside. Chat is mostly about test at both schools. I didn't feel like I was "interviewed" at either. [ Reply | More ]
