Pretty good as schools will not automatically put your application in the rejection pile. Your application will be looked at. By TTs. But too high for 3rd tier schools - meaning they will think you are not serious about them. If you apply to 3rd tier, you'd better first choice them, otherwise not much luck. If you FC a 2nd tier school with that score, very good chance that dc will be accepted. TTs - 97 is not too low but it's not great either. [ Reply | More

It is high enough, my dc go into a TT with a 96, one of her friend's with a 95 & another with a 97. Just make sure that the rest of the package is there. GL!!!! You never know in this process. You still have to apply broadly. [ Reply | More

Broadly yes, but it doesn't mean 3rd tiers will accept dc if OP is not serious. They'd know. For us, it was a waste of time. I know plenty of 99 kids who got flat out rejected by 3rd tiers (they all knew they wouldn't get the kids)... [ Reply | More

I don't know if there really is a science. DC got into some TT, got rejected by two, WLed at one, rejected at some 3rd & not at others. I think it is a numbers game & they are also looking at the composition of the class - so a dc might be rejected from one school & accepted at an equally good one, depending on what those particular schools are looking for. That's what I'm saying. High 90 score and you apply to TTs and 3rd tiers and see if 3rd tier will give you an accept. Either WL or rejects from 3rd tiers if you don't show strong interest (as in FC). [ Reply | More

Only 99s get a "serious" look. But 97 will be looked at same as 95/96/98 kids. Still good enough score at TTs. If dc aces playdate and parent interview goes well, plus PSD report is super, yes, TT is possible (though tougher for HM or Dalton as non sibs but still not impossible.) [ Reply | More

I am not sure what "interectual stimulation" is, but, while TTs are definitely academic, so are some of the schools that UB "poo-poos" Apply to TT, but look at other schools and keep an open mind. GL! [ Reply | More
