Of all places, why wouldn't you admit you prepped your DC for ERB or OLSAT on UB? I prepped DD for OLSAT & she got a 62, I think... Doing it again for younger DD, but different approach. Are you all afraid God will know? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I freely admit that I prepped for OLSAT, here and IRL. In fact, I advised other parents in our preschool to do the same. [ Reply | More ]

^^However, I didn't prep for ERB. I wouldn't even know how to prep for that. [ Reply | More ]

no prep. honest. 99 on every test out there. so glad it wasn't necessary. sounds like a bad way to have to be with dc. [ Reply | More ]

You prepped and she got a 62 and you still are going to do the same for your second child? Have you not learnt anything from your first attempt? You are just pulling our leg, right? [ Reply | More ]

OP: Yeah, but this one is smarter to begin with & I am not going to make her go to the wacky Chinese school, where in a 2 hr session you can only leave to pee. I think that left a pretty bad taste in her mouth. For DD #2 only option is Citywide so apparently have to get 99. Prepping could make difference. Now will just do it in a kinder, gentler way. "wacky Chinese school"? Seriously, I hope your kids don't absorb your inarticulate choice of descriptions or weird bigotry. [ Reply | More ]

Well, if you believe your child will be easily w/in her depth in a slightly accelerated K curriculum, why prep? If she will not- why prep? I wasn't aware it was an illicit act to 'prep' kids for tests. I mean, the DoE makes that the core curriculum of most gen-ed in nyc; no? I never did it and always saw my child garner highest possible results. Perhaps you should give it a rest w/ the prep; they're your kids not your racehorses. [ Reply | More ]

b/c you need to get a 99 - prep could be the difference between 98 & 99. [ Reply | More ]

Perhaps you should refresh yourself on the number of 99s that didn't get seats at Citywides. 99 is not a guarantee; there are no guarantees- outside of most well-scoring siblings, some of whom didn't get seats they thought they had. [ Reply | More ]

Did you pay someone to prep for that 62? Did you get your money back? [ Reply | More ]
