Driving to the Hamptons--never been there before--if I can only drive down Friday afternoon, how long will it take with traffic--I know it will be longer than the 2 hours it would take during non rush hours. tia [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Probably around 4 hours on a summer afternoon. Check Google Traffic before you go--will show long delays and you can plan your route accordingly. [ Reply | More

which hampton? Southampton is the easiest to get to. The worst traffic is between south and the rest of them. Last Sat. morning it took almost an hour to get from Southampton to East Hamtpon. [ Reply | More

np: Westhampton is actually the easiest since it is closest to the city, but on Friday afternoon/evening just the LIE portion is a huge mess. Could be 4 hours+. [ Reply | More

Budget 4 hours if you leave between 4 and 6. If you wait until after 7 you can probably do it in just under three. No one gets to East Hampton from the city in 2 hours. [ Reply | More
