Do some kids take longer to lose "baby fat" than others? My dd is going to be 4 and is still carrying baby fat. I thought it was normal until my annoying frenemy said something about it. My dh and I are thin, doesn't genetics play a strong role? I don't even want to think about weight and my little girl. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Don't think about it if you Ped hasn't said anything. I have a big girl who has always been 90% for height and around 80% for weight. She ain't skinny but as long as the weight percentile is lower than the height I don't worry. And avoid anyone who is trying to make your kid anorexic - it's very easy to do. [ Reply | More ]

Don't listen to her, but if you need peace of mind, ask your pediatrician. [ Reply | More ]
