Please help I really need some advice here. Do I cut the cord? My nanny, who has so far been great, has a lot of things going on in her life that aren't likely to change any time soon. It's been affecting the way she deals with dcs (4,1). She's short with them, takes them on extended errands, and dh saw her picking up 1 year old very roughly bc she had climbed on table. We have spoken to her, but she got very sulky. Do you think another big talk will help change things, or time to cut the cord? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

That is not acceptable behavior. Do you bring your problems to your office and treat people like that? I would not allow somebody to do errands with my children at that age. [ Reply | More

I actually went through something similar recently and did cut the cord. As heartless as it sounds, you are not responsible for how she deals with her own life, but she is responsible for how she conducts herself at work. Since you know the problem is not going to remedy itself soon, I advise you to look for alternative help. It's hard, but her life is her own. [ Reply | More
