In NYC do 3 yo have to take standarized tests to get into school? From PA and can't imagine 3 yo can't even read? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

they're not expected to read. some may take Hunter/SB as an "old" three (mine did), but most take it and the private test at four, and it's less of a test, and more activity and verbally based. [ Reply | More ]

some schools require the ERB test for pre-K admission (Columbia Grammar, for example), so if you're applying for private pre-K, may need to have dc take the test. My dc took the Stanford Binet right before turning 4 because of Fall birthday. [ Reply | More ]
