DC's cousin is very aggressive and hits/bullies dc constantly. Brother and his wife is totally lame and only makes their dc apologise. WWYD? I'm sorry every hour is not good enough at the end of the day. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

At 4, child should be put in time-outs after a warning. Are they not doing this? Perhaps they don't see their dc's behavior as aggressive as you do? You might need to talk to them. [ Reply | More ]

Problem is they are inconsistent with their discipline. their dc is spoiled rotten. they don't view the kicking, jabbing and punching as anything other than boys will be boys. [ Reply | More ]

^^^for inconsequential things like not doing something inane, but when he hits my dc, he gets to just apologise (with a smirk on his face, no less) [ Reply | More ]

does he LIKE playing with your dc? It might be best to threaten to remove his cousin from the situation - i.e., if you keep hitting Johnny then he is going to have to go away and you won't get to play anymore [ Reply | More ]

can you arrange for your brother to do the same, i.e. make HIS child leave? Or explain to your dc that if his cousin isn't nice to him you and he will go do something nice/fun together [ Reply | More ]
