Isn't an au pair live in? [ Reply | More ]

an au pair is someone usually from a foreign country who comes to the US for a fixed period of time (usually a year) to live with a family and work with children for a set number of hours per week, usually not more than 40. They also usually take classes at local colleges, etc., and improve their English. Au Pairs are not paid as much as nannies (usually much less) because they live-in and benefit from free room & board [ Reply | More ]

you provide room and board to an au pair so they make less. usually they are girls from abroad that can only stay 1 year and make about $300 a week. [ Reply | More ]

I know an au pair that makes $500/month, vs. my nanny's $575/week. If I had the space, I'd consider an au pair too. [ Reply | More ]
