Can someone please explain how the "inclusion" class works in public elementary schools in Manhattan? Are the kids considered "inclusion" kids physically handicapped or could we theoretically end up with some psycho kid who harms others? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I think most of the kids have minor issues, like speech or sensory or fine motor skills. Psycho kid would get kicked out of school. [ Reply | More ]

Agree, but there was a psycho kid in my dc's ctt class this year and they couldn't get him out. Parent fought legally to keep the child in regular school. [ Reply | More ]

How was the experience for your dc otherwise? Was it a K class? [ Reply | More ]

Psycho is not a nice way to put it, so let's say dcs w/ behavioral issues. Unfortunately, not true. Dc was in a CTT class where there were 4 dcs w/ behavioral issues, acting out, not listening to teachers, threatening to throw chair, and in one case, actually throwing the chair and other hard objects.
