My kitchen is infested with little flying brown beetle-looking bugs. they don't bite and aren't in the food - they seem to like to just hang out in the cabinets or on the ceiling. What are they, and how do I get rid of them!? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

They are probably in the food. Anything in a box that you've opened before, down at the bottom. When we got these, I ended up taking a whole day, throwing out anything that had been opened, buying airtight containers for the rest, scrubbing out all the cupboards with soap and water and then spraying with Lysol, and then keeping everything that has to be opened in the airtight containers. It was the only thing that would get rid of them. We put all cereal, cookies, crackers, rice, oatmeal, etc.--everything in containers. It can be a pain, but the upside is I haven't seen a bug since (they recurred before), and they do make my cupboards more organized and better looking inside. [ Reply | More

thanks. I did look in all of the food and didn't find an (we had these a few years ago and I did find them in the breadcrumbs and did what you just said and hadn't seen them since). Yuck yuck yuck [ Reply | More
