We went to ds's visiting day at sleepaway camp. A girl walked by us and said, "Hi [ds's name}. Ds looked down and away, and mumbled "hi!, and looked embarrassed. It seemed clear from the way the girl said Hi that she "liked" him. I asked ds whether he liked any of the girls at camp, and he said yes, and admitted that it was the girl who walked by. I asked him whether he thought she liked him and he said he had no idea, and had no plans to ever speak with her. It was just interesting to me that she was able to speak to him more directly, and he could not. The whole interaction was so interesting to me in that the girl seemed so much more mature. When do boys and girls start going out these days? They're entering 6th grade, by the way. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

FWIW, my dd is the opposite. Boys have liked her, but she tries to ignore it, and is not really into boys at this age. [ Reply | More ]
