I'm ready to go out with my 9 wk old daughter for the first time to do errands! At grocery store, do I put her in the car seat in the grocery cart? Is it easy? Am afraid of an outburst and will have to leave store. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I have a snap and go stroller for my DD and planned on my first shopping trip as a short trip to the store where I would just put the food in the stroller basket or hold one of the store baskets in one hand. That way I wasn't encumbered by a large shopping cart. I wasn't too keen about putting the car seat on the top of the cart, just seems too top heavy and I have tried putting the car seat in the shopping cart basket but there's hardly any room for food, plus it can be a bumpy ride for baby. I was also afraid of an outburst, but if you do a quick shop (have a list ready) then it isn't so bad. DB will probably sleep the whole time. [ Reply | More ]

^^ Also, the first errand I did with my DD was to the baby store where there are tons of moms with babies and restrooms with nursing stations. It gave me confidence that my DD stayed asleep the whole time while I heard other babies/kids fussing. But if she had woken up, it wouldn't have been such a big deal. [ Reply | More ]
