can someone please give me some advice? my sister insulted DB's 1st birthday as "what a fake attempt at a party" and my mom made rude comments while DB tried his first cake. they never call me. i feel badly that i don't have contact with them. should i call them for the sake of a formal family relationship at least? It is tough. Don't know about sister, but Honor Thy Mother and Father is the only commandment that offers a reward. So, its either really important or God knows how hard it is :) Probably both! [ Reply | More

i'm really sorry. that was very rude of them. it's such a tough call. my family has been less than supportive about my pregnancy. there are moments when i want to write them off forever. if you think they will listen/care/understand, tell then how you feel and how they hurt you. otherwise, try to surround yourself with other people who are loving and supportive and just be cordial with them to keep the peace. i've come rely on my supportive friends rather than my parents and sister for support.
