Father of my dc, never in the picture we dated only a few months, is a TT grad at a private NYC school. We have zero contact and he has no involvement in dcs life BUT are we still considered legacy, can I place his name in the slot on the application and check the legacy box? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I'm not involved in any school issues (kids too young), but I would say you are entitled to check the box, but if at all possible you should let him know. You also shouldn't misrepresent the relationship at all - just be honest. [ Reply | More ]

you can check the box but you must let him know. What if the school contacts him? [ Reply | More ]

What a nice guy-he would refuse? Will he deny it is his child if they call? Anyway, think if you would want DC going to the same school as his "real" kids [ Reply | More ]

I'm not sure you would be wise to do this if the legacy parent is not, in some way, a part of the application process--especially if he hopes to send other children to the school. [ Reply | More ]
