I'm having trouble getting information on the NYC public schools-- for example, deadlines for testing for G&T, deadlines for paperwork for non- G&T. I am just looking now, since my dd won't be attending until fall of 2009. Thanks. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

The DOE's website will have the info --- when they announce it. Last year, they did not announce the new testing procedures and deadlines until middle to late fall ... I can't recall exactly, but possibly late October? Anyway, do not rely on your PSD for the DOE-related stuff. I have heard numerous stories about PSDs who did not even mention the DOE G&T testing as an option for families. [ Reply | More

^^^ For non-G&T, it really depends what you're looking for. Many zoned schools had registration in the 2nd-3rd weeks of March. If you're interested in lottery schools, you would check each District's website for info. [ Reply | More
