Okay, so here's a sleep question. DB is 7 m.o. and sleeps about 9 hours a night 7-4, then nurses and goes back down for another 2-3 hours. He seldom goes into his crib awake, though, sometimes drowsy and we pat his back until he's asleep and sometimes he nurses to sleep. Should we A) be happy with what we've got and stick with what we're doing or B) keep work on trying to get him to go into the crib wide awake b/c it's all going to go to hell in a handbasket soon? my 13 month old is still nursed or rocked to sleep. i sort of think at 7 mo it wont' be easily resolved anyway so you can either try to fix it now if you must, or if it isn't bothering you, just keep doing it until it starts bothering you. fwiw, my dd (#1) was the same and one night she just didn't fall asleep when nursing at around 6 months and when i just put her in the crib to see what would happen, she was totally fine. now with db#2 this is not the case. Sounds fine. You can always change what you're doing if it becomes a problem for you later on down the line, but don't anticipate problems that may / will probably never arise. [ Reply | More ]
