yes. The most important thing is that we are equal partners--in work, decision making, spending, and caring for dc. Also we like to do many of the same things. But it is not perfect and we have had our problems. At the end of the day, I just couldn't imagine life without him. [ Reply | More

I feel this way too - we've also been through a humungous health issue with one of our kids, and believe it or not, this has ultimately made us a stronger couple. Granted, there are plenty of times when I feel as if we are 'co-existing', just roommates, but that's the time where you have to put in the extra effort to make things good again. Otherwise, I can see where that's the time that the rift between two people can get bigger and bigger. [ Reply | More

disagree. In long, successful marriages stages like this happen all the time. If your children are young, you become so focused on them- tired, stressed, that the sexual interest goes away. If you hang in there and make an effort to keep the sex life going, even if it feels forced, the spark will eventually come back. Hang in there! [ Reply | More

We are basically in total agreement about how to raise dcs, make each other laugh, both have work we like. We have our struggles and have done some counseling, but whenever I see other people's bad marriages, it reminds me how fortunate I am (not that everyone else has a bad marriage, but recently I've realized how little i have to complain about).
