The sad (or not sad) fact is that several hundred kids get 95+. Maybe not half of all kids who take it (which was 3000 last year or so) but I would not be shocked if a 1/3 of those kids got 95+. There are just so many high scoring kids that 95 doesn't make a dc competitive. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

But, yet, many 95s are headed for TT this fall. It was 3100 who took the test. [ Reply | More ]

ERB scores are the least important part of an application. [ Reply | More ]

Child interview and the school report are the most important factors. [ Reply | More ]

^^^ The ability to relate well to strange adults is a big factor. I think people focus on their children's test scores because they are quantifiable and other things are more subjective. The author of the book The Overachievers sits in on a Trinity interview for K, if you want her perspective. [ Reply | More ]

There are plenty of kids with very high (98+) scores who have excellent school reports and relate well to strange adults. That's why the tts are full of them. [ Reply | More ]

Trinity interview is the biggest farce ever. Not a real interview. [ Reply | More ]

I was glad they returned my check before I submitted my kids 99x3 erbs. Didn't have a chance as we're totally unconnected. At least they save me a few bucks. [ Reply | More ]

np; 99x3 kid and we were "interviewed" but not a single q'n asked. Dc was able to read whatever book they had, drew all the shapes, etc. Didn't do squat. Totally unconnected. Meanwhile, a sib with 91 got in. [ Reply | More ]

That sib score would be a tough sell at several of the other tts, that's for sure. [ Reply | More ]

Yep, any other school (though some are more sib friendly) but Trinity - you'd better believe it. [ Reply | More ]

BS. Doubt my unconnected 99x3 dc, charming though she is, would have done so well without her high score [ Reply | More ]

ERB. but I am sure there are far more than several hundred kids who got 95+on olsat since more kids took olsat and it was more preppable. [ Reply | More ]

And your info is from where? We are a TT and we would love to see 300+ with 95++ be careful to believe what read here on UB the women have an agenda [ Reply | More ]

np If there are that few 95s, the unprepped 98s and 99s are even more attractive. I only know ONE kid with a 99/99/99 who didn't get into tt. Wouldn't you say most of the kids with stellar scores get tt (if that's what they want)? Assuming well-behaved without nutty parents? [ Reply | More ]

Her post is barely understandable. Seems to say royal "we" ARE a tt. Or maybe it's her dc AT a tt (in which case I don't know why they'd "love to see 300+ with 95+++"--my kid's at tt and I have no thoughts one way or another about the erb scores of kids applying in). [ Reply | More ]

Think of ERB scores like a college GPA: 4.0 (99) gets you a special look, but not the job; 3.5+ (90+), you get a look; less than 3.5 (80-90) you'd better have something special to set you apart; <80), you need a miracle or extenuating circumstances to get into the running. [ Reply | More ]
