Need some advice please. I have a 2.5 year old who is amazing and so much fun. For some reason though when we go out to, lets say a bday party, he becomes super clingy and doesnt want to participate. If I walk away (just to throw something out) he starts screaming and makes a whole scene. It makes me sad to see that he doesnt want have fun. Hopefully this is just a stage?? I'm the mom of the 5-yo above; this has happened at bday parties occasionally; I find it helps to arrive early, but it persists, it might be better to accommodate and not make a big deal about it. I'm familiar with the embarrassing scene, but for me, being firm didn't work at all. Now I act far more casual and it seems to be helping a little...but you can see I'm still seeking advice.
