I want to take one big pc of luggage but am worried that I will go over the 50 lbs allowed. Damn I can take 3 smaller pcs of luggage but that's just a pita. I wish I had a scale [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

why would it cost me? We can take on 2 bags per person (jetblue) since we bought our tix before May 1st. So I either bring more bags that are smaller or take 1 large bag for me and my 2 kids. [ Reply | More

In this case just the 1 piece over 50lbs will cost you - most airlines charge for overweight luggage. You are better off with the 3 lighter weight bags since you are allowed the 2 bags per person -- I assumed it was just 1 person travelling and 3 bags would have meant an extra bag charge.
