how can i stop swaddling my 4 month old? he fusses with it on, but he can't sleep at all w/out it. he flails his arms around and keeps waking himself up just as he's about to fall asleep. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Why stop? My DD loved swaddling. I swaddled her until 11 mos. By then she could break out of it, but she loved the action. Even now, at age 5, she loves being enclosed. [ Reply | More ]

i've been just wrapping his arms, but i also sometimes worry if i'm interfering w his ability to self sooth (like suck on his fingers, etc.). [ Reply | More ]

We swaddled + pacifier. Dd loved it. Dr. Karp is a good proponent of such methods. Our dd seemed to "struggle" too, & I always wondered if she liked it, but once she was done w/ it, it was CLEAR. When you say he struggles, do you mean gets out of it? [ Reply | More ]
