I agreed to help out this week for vacation bible school at my ds preschool. I found out this am that I have to do a background check. I was arrested in college (15 years ago, for shoplifting). Do I really want to fill out this form and hand it over to the preschool director and chance others finding out about it? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Cop here, if they run a back ground check, and that's a big if, anything you were arrested for will come up, or if you were printed for a job or firearm license. Are you going to have a long term relationship with them? They will gossip, I don't think anyone will pass too much judgement on a 15 year old arrest for silliness, but they will gossip about it no doubt. And if you do work for them anyother job you apply for later on down the road MAY be able to get that application. [ Reply | More
