omg please talk me through this- 10 mo is currently screaming in crib now. usually goes to sleep, don't hear from her till 6 or 7 am. have gone in 2x, comforted b/c so unusual , gave tylenol in case its teeth...but now just letting cry. what is going on??? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

my rule of thumb is that one night is not a problem. it's not a habit until it's two nights in a row. if it's unusual, maybe she's teething or coming down with something. take her out. [ Reply | More ]

Did you read the Weissbluth book? I don't remember what it says about 10 month olds but it worked like magic for my 5 month old (at the time). My now 6m old goes to bed by 7 the latest and doesn't wake up till 6. Don't listen to people who say the bedtime is too early. It's only going to get later as baby gets older and babies need a lot of sleep. I would let baby cry as long as I made sure baby was fed, dry and not in distress some other way. Babies need to learn how to go back to sleep and maybe that's why he's struggling. Picking him up is not a good thing for him to get used to. [ Reply | More ]
