WWYD? We've had a nanny we like for 1 year. She just told us she has to take a class in the mornings, so we have to find another nanny to patch in that time until she can come in. Even though that is bothersome, the bigger issue is when we asked her for details we found out that in the summer she will need to do an internship and then she's done the program so she'll most likely be quitting to get a job in her area of study. We like her and hate to rock our kids' world with another caretaker, but it feels like the writing is on the wall. We're thinking of finding another nanny all together instead of dealing with the headaches that are to come. Are we being unfair and/or unreasonable? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

If she can't work the hours you need, it is not unreasonable to look for someone else. I would give her good severance though, and help her find another job. [ Reply | More ]

I remember your post about this when you first found out about the class. I think you need to just find someone new. it's the best thing for your kids. Otherwise, you have two nannies this year and then a whole new third nanny next year. [ Reply | More ]
