Childless friends insist they love their pets as much as I love my kids. Think they're gonna feel stupid about this if/when they have kids. But then again, I don't have/love animals. Anyone have both? Care to tell me the truth? Should I respect their feelings privately as well as publicly? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I have both. There is absolutely no comparison. I loved my 2 cats very much (now have 1 left), but there is no comparison to how I love my son. For example, I would never leave him at a hospital overnight alone but I did my cat (when she was spade -- another thing I would not do to my son). Let alone ever 'put him to sleep' -- people who say it's the same are delusional. [ Reply | More
